Implementing the S1000D standard for a helicopter manufacturer

As part of a project to update the IPC (Illustrated Parts Catalogue, which lists, describes and illustrates all the components of a product in the aeronautical sector), a European helicopter manufacturer wanted to integrate the S1000D standard into its technical publication tool.

This standard is based on the implementation of a sophisticated database, which gathers a set of sorted and hierarchical data, which are then linked together according to various criteria. As soon as a data item is updated, all the interdependent elements are updated.

Thanks to its knowledge of XML standards and technologies, CIMPA provides its expertise to define the structure and content of the various modules of this database. The client can thus achieve its objective: the compliance of the technical documentation and the parts catalogue (IPC) with the international standard.
