CIMPA PLM Services to enhance your operational efficiency

PLM Focus

How can CIMPA enhance the success of your PLM initiatives ?

Setting up or optimising a PLM approach in a company is often complex as it involves many different stakeholders within and outside its ecosystem, and encompasses business aspects, people and technologies. You need a robust partner at your side to guide you through this transformation project.

CIMPA has extensive experience in all the different facets of PLM Services, from creating or refreshing a PLM strategy, to deploying tools, processes and methods, and educating and assisting users, and can assist you in your PLM initiatives.
Furthermore, being part of a successful large industrial group and thanks to our multi-sector expertise we have an unparalleled understanding of the challenges that most companies face in different domains such as Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations and Maintenance.

You benefit from our skilled PLM professionals who understand your business and provide you with the best PLM practices.
Do not hesitate to contact CIMPA about your PLM issues and plans; we will be happy to discuss how we can help you further.

Cutting through complexity with Configuration Management

Technological advances and an ever growing need for highly individualised products lead to increased product complexity and customisation in many industries. Globalised and outsourced supply chains also generate complexity, in terms of process visibility, quality controls and data overload; not to mention rigorous regulatory and certification requirements.

In order to help you keep pace with product complexity, CIMPA offers comprehensive Configuration Management services as a transversal management methodology. This provides structured processes and data models and can:

  • ensure full traceability from product requirements to product realization;
  • provide total visibility over a product’s development and its variants throughout your supply chain;
  • enable introduction of modular and configurable product platforms increasing re-use of product               components and company assets (e.g. production lines) and thus driving down overall product cost

Configuration Management can also be implemented for operating and maintaining a product or an asset as a means to track and monitor its status throughout its operational life, to keep modifications during operation under control and to provide a solid and reliable information database for any operational activity (e.g. repair, maintenance and overhaul).

Services around Configuration Management are one of the pillars of CIMPA’s PLM service offering.  Our services in this area encompass all of the CM disciplines, ranging from providing CM Process Expertise, (through CM Process Development and supporting Methods & Tools specification), to everyday CM Process support and coordination activities.

CIMPA provides CM expertise to customers within the Airbus Group and other industries. For example, we provided services for Airbus Chief Engineering on A350XWB, including supporting engineering trade-off considerations and consolidation within the change process for all A350 models, securing the definition of a sound target configuration for main A/C milestones, and the link with standard specification and catalogue. Amongst our many achievements throughout this project are the launch and coordination of A350 configuration boards, contribution to the CM deliverables (analysis of technical, cost and planning repercussions), and in ensuring global adherence to the governing configuration principles defined by Airbus.

A new website to present our PLM service offering

Of course CIMPA’s roots run deep in the aerospace and defence sector, which remains our core area of activity. Airbus, our largest customer along with other entities of Airbus Group, has always been on the cutting edge in terms of PLM investment, practices and innovations, which CIMPA both contributes to and benefits from.

Drawing on the breadth and depth of this experience as well as on the exchange of know-how, CIMPA decided to extend and offer its expertise to other industry sectors with similar characteristics (such as long life cycles, safety issues, regulatory constraints, etc…), and has significantly diversified its activities. Now firmly established in these industries, CIMPA has just launched a new website that both reflects this diversification and showcases its wide-ranging PLM services.

The website has been completely redesigned with a strong focus on our service offering and customer benefits. It features enhanced navigation and a fully optimized design to enable easy access via smartphones and tablet PCs.
We invite you to take a look! You are bound to discover new things about CIMPA!

Fully committed to our customers

Sine our establishment, CIMPA has been involved in numerous projects involving a wide variety of sectors and customers, which have rannged from large PLM harmonization programmes to consulting missions through to integration with upstream and downstream applications.
Deployment of a Manufacturing Execution System  in 10 plants based on a standard commercial tool to harmonize shop floor solutions
Harmonization of  engineering processes across the company (9000 employees) and preparation of the ENOVIA V6 implementation

Accompanying you on your PLM path

When you initiate or upgrade a PLM system in your company, you want a partner who has previous experiences in the same domain and with the technology you use, so that  you can minimise risks related to cost, quality and delays. You need to be sure your PLM service provider has the necessary skills to recommend the right technology for you, to guide you before and during the deployment, and to help you maximise your PLM investment.

This is why CIMPA has strong partnerships with major PLM software vendors Dassault Systèmes, PTC and Siemens. This enables us to be at the forefront of advanced technologies and to have an in-depth knowledge of their solutions. It also allows us to offer an optimised PLM approach, best adapted to our client’s industrial and business processes whilst limiting specific developments that could incur additional costs. Our approach assists you in addressing competitiveness, innovation and performance issues that you face in your organisation.

To further enhance our service capabilities to airlines, operators, MROs and Customer Services, we have also concluded cooperation agreements with specific solutions providers such as 2MoRO Solutions and Fingermind.

However, we remain vendor-independent to remain neutral and recommend the most adaptated and appropriate PLM suites to our customers, according to the analysis and context diagnostics carried out. Our strategic partnerships cover consulting, solution integration, support and training activities, so we are at your side during every stage of your PLM journey.
